Transitions Homeless Shelter Community Outreach
As part of the University of South Carolina Pre-Dental Club, we initiated a new fundraiser to raise money to create Dental Care Kits for the lesser fortunate members of our community in Columbia, South Carolina!
With the help of our UofSC community we were able to help fund the well-being of the oral hygiene of the homeless people in our community as well as raising awareness of the importance of oral hygiene to one's overall health.
We raised $300 to purchase basic dental care items including toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, and floss and we donated over 250 dental care kits to our local homeless shelter, called Transitions.
Melrose Park Oral Health Outreach with the Kids
The Pre-Dental Club is passionate about community outreach; starting with educating the children of our community about the importance of oral hygeine.

We visited Melrose Park and taught children about the basics of oral hygeine in interactive and engaging way. We used tooth models, showed the children informational videos, and also colored teeth with them!
